Beth Shea was born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. After graduating from The University of Arizona with a BA in Creative Writing, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her writing aspirations.

Initially landing in the entertainment industry, Beth worked in various capacities at every major film and television studio in Hollywood. Her communication savvy and her writing skills enabled Beth to secure a niche in public relations as she facilitated the publicity campaign for NBC’s “ER” during its heyday as the number one drama on television. Two years later, Beth fulfilled a big “To Do” on her list and moved to New York City to expand her horizons and experience life in this dynamic locale. After a year in Manhattan, Beth moved back to Los Angeles where she continued her career in writing and PR, as a lifestyle publicist focusing on beauty, health, travel and fashion.

Beth is now a full-time freelance writer and consultant. The birth of her daughter in August 2007 prompted Beth to take an avid interest in eco-friendly parenting and sustainable living, to help preserve the planet for future generations. Beth writes about "green" parenting for multiple websites. She founded and writes Petite Planet: Baby Steps toward Changing the World, a blog which highlights eco-savvy choices for children and families. Beth is also the Managing Editor of Inhabitots, a website which focuses on "sustainable design for the next generation."

Beth has traveled the world extensively and written articles about the latest and greatest spa innovations and programs, health findings, relationship techniques, best ways to travel, and must see destinations. Beth visited and reviewed three spas ranked in Travel & Leisure Magazine's top ten "World's Best Spas:" Mii Amo, Canyon Ranch and Miraval. Miraval also selected Beth as an expert for their panel to brainstorm future amenity and package options for their resort. Additionally, The Boston Herald Newspaper featured her personality driven piece on The Viceroy Resort in Palm Springs in their Sunday Travel Section.

Beth is a chameleon of a writer, with the talent, sensibility and scope to write about almost any topic. Her unique voice is entertaining, informative and engaging.

Beth lives with her husband, Ben, and their daughter, Olivia. In addition to freelancing for several publications, she is writing a book of humorous essays based on her life. She is inspired by the works of Graham Greene, J.D. Salinger, Oscar Wilde, William Shakespeare and David Sedaris.
